The Peace Education and Development (PEAD) Foundation, with the support of National Endowment for Democracy (NED) aims to empower minority women by building their capacity and enhancing their knowledge about democracy, governance, human rights and other critical areas.
To build the knowledge and capacity of women from non-Muslim communities for political participation
To promote increased political representation of non-Muslim women in elected governments at the local, provincial, and national levels
The project will see women from minorities taking an active part in grass roots democracy to present and address their problems. For this project, PEAD is working in three major cities including Lahore, Faisalabad, and Islamabad. The project, in one year, will see the capacity building and outreach of 3 separate groups of 60 potential women leaders in these target districts.
