Peace Education And Development (PEAD)Foundation, since its inception has been making efforts for the promotion of social cohesion and peace. Undertaking various projects since its establishment in 2002, PEAD Foundation has successfully managed to work with people from different faiths and cultures throughout Pakistan.
Following its tradition of undertaking initiatives that lead to promotion of peace building and mutual respect for all PEAD Foundation took opportunity to celebrate the World Day for Cultural Diversity 2016 in Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. For the purpose, PEAD desired to celebrate the day in Gor-Gathri Mandir, creating an overall sense for respect and acceptance for the Hindu Community living in the city.
In the brief program carried out by PEAD on Sunday 22 May’ 2016, representatives from different faiths stressed for the need of accepting and respecting diversity. Its importance was highlighted by performances made by youth via skits, songs and poems. Later participants enjoyed the food prepared in the Mandir and was served in their traditional style.
Participants from different faiths marked it as an amazing experience and were thankful to the Hindu community for being wonderful hosts.
