Peace Education And Development (PEAD) Foundation in support from its Community Peace Group (CPG) of Union Council Landi Arbab carried out an Eid Milan Party at the Church of Pakistan, Peshawar Cantt.
The event was held under the title, “Festivals for Peace” an integral component of PEAD foundations initiative ” Joint Social Action for Equal Rights and Opportunities for Minorities in KP” undertaken in 06 union councils of district Peshawar in collaboration with Norwegian Church Aid (NCA).
The colorful event was attended by religious representatives of different faiths, civil society and faith based organizations, students and media representatives who thoroughly enjoyed the event and appreciated the efforts of PEAD for inter-faith harmony.
The speakers representing different faiths addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of diversity and respect for each other beliefs. They stressed upon bridging the gap between the people of different faiths living together for a better and peaceful Pakistan. Among the speakers the prominent were, Hassan Farooq Madni (Scholar and head of religious seminary), Rabia Basri (District Member), Robina Moeen (Representative Minhaj ul Quran), Rev. Joseph (Priest Incharge St. Jhons Cathedral) and Javed Gill.
Participants of the gathering also paid tribute to Abdul Sattar Edhi for his humanitarian services and lit candles in his memory.
