Peace Education And Development (PEAD) Foundation in Collaboration carried out a seminar on International Human Rights Day on 10th December’ 2016 at Peshawar. The event was attended by religious leaders, representatives from civil society and media, community peace group members and youth. A diverse participation was observed during the event. Among the guest speakers for the event were:
- Qibla Ayaz (Ex-Vice Chancellor University of Peshawar & Religious Scholar)
- Safiullah Gull (Bureau Chief Dunya News Peshawar)
- Sardar Charan Jeet Singh (Religious Scholar Sikh Community/Faith Friends Organization)
- Amir Khan (Principal)
- Hassan Farooq (Khateeb & Mohtamim Iqra Darul Quran Al-Kareem Educational Complex)
Role plays were performed by Muslim and Christian students to highlight the importance of human rights. The students sang songs on peace and spreading a word of humanity. Similarly a poster competition was also carried out on theme “Human Rights” during the event.
PEAD Foundation presented the young human rights activists with an award of recognition for their services in human rights during the course of the year in order to motivate them and acknowledge them for the good work they have been doing over the year.
PEAD Foundation also launched its poster specially designed for International Human Rights Day 2016.
